The covered driveway of the Cartières, also known as the covered driveway of Besnardière, is a covered driveway located in Buais-Les-Monts, in the delegated commune of Saint-Symphorien-des-Monts, in the department of the Manche, in Normandy.
History: The covered alley of the Cartesières was discovered in 1870 by M. de Beauregard but was not mentioned by Henri Moulin until 1877. In 1908, Léon Coutil visited the site and drew up the plan. During the 1999 storm, the building was partially damaged by the collapse of surrounding trees.
Description: The building is a side entrance grave. It consists of two perpendicular aisles: the first is east-west and the second north-south. The first gangway is 10.50 m long and the second is 8.90 m. As it stands, it is not possible to know whether the two aisles were communicating. The first aisle has ten orthostats aligned south side (seven north side) and four more or less inclined slabs. Its width varies between 1.10 and 1.80 m. Four cover tables remain in place.
