About

La Campagne Pastré is a 112-hectare public park located in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, close to the road leading from La Pointe Rouge aux Goudes. It is a green space that alternates areas where Mediterranean vegetation grows freely and almost wildly, and more structured, landscaped and equipped areas. Various activities are offered to walkers: a health course, acro-branch, a riding stable or rides for young children.

In the heart of this park are three bastides built in the 19th century: the Château Pastré, which housed the former Museum of faience, the Château Estrangin and the Château Sanderval. Between 1966 and 1987 under Gaston Defferre's mandate, the Pastre Campaign was gradually purchased by the City of Marseille from Countess Lily Pastré and her descendants. Lily Pastré, patron, had protected many endangered artists in her castle under the occupation.
