église Saint-Martin de Feigneux
Saint-Martin Church is a Catholic parish church located in Feigneux, Oise department, France. Its oldest part, the western facade of the nave, dates back to the first quarter of the 12th century. The rest of the nave is not visible from the outside.
The three vaults of the nave date from 1641, and the interior space displays the Renaissance style. The primitive sanctuary was completely demolished at the end of the 12th century and replaced by the current Gothic choir, which consists of a right span and a striped apse. Before the very end of the Hundred Years' War, the church was enlarged by the addition of a cruise and a low side on the north side.
The first span of this side is the base of the bell tower, which had to be started at the same time. About a century later, a cruise and a low side were added to the south. Only the cruise was first vaulted.
The inscription on a stained glass window that is now gone was about 1537. In 1646, two years before the Fronde, the bell tower was enhanced by the construction of a watchroom with fireplace. If this last addition is harmful to the aesthetics of the tower, the church Saint-Martin constitutes...
