château de Ventadour
The castle of Meyras, called the castle of Ventadour since the 19th century, is a former castle fort founded in the 11th century, and rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries, which stands on the French commune of Meyras in the department of Ardèche, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Reshuffled at the time of the Hundred Years' War and then in the 16th century, the castle played a role during the Wars of Religion, and was gradually abandoned in the 17th century. Around 1700 it seems to be dismantled before falling into ruins and since 1969 an association has been working on its complete restitution. The castle is listed as historical monuments by order of 4 May 1937.
