The Sainte-Croix Chapel of the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, also known as the Holy Christ, is the chapel located within the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, in Perpignan in the department of the Pyrénées-Orientales. It belongs to a primitive Gothic style, with marked Romanesque influence.
Situation: It is located at the highest point of the palace, upstairs, above the chapel of Santa Maria Magdalena, by which it is hidden.
History: It was first mentioned in 1295, and must have been completed about three years earlier. However, his final endowment was only in 1309, and the organization of his religious service as chapel of the palace until the reign of Sanche de Mallorca (1311-1324)[not clear]. In 1642 his name was changed to Santa Florentina, but after a few years he returned to his original name. The chapel opens between two rectangular windows stretched horizontally on the west terrace of the castle courtyard by a portal located on a polychrome marble facade (Vilafranca rose and Ceret blanc).
