Autricum was the name of a city of the Gaulish people of the Carnuts, generally regarded as their capital, located at the site of the present city of Chartres, in Eure-et-Loir. Until the Roman conquest of 52 B.C., the city and its region occupied a role of the most important of the religion of all Gaul.
