basilique Notre-Dame de Bonsecours
Notre-Dame de Bonsecours Basilica is a minor Catholic basilica located in Bonsecours, near Rouen on a pilgrimage site dedicated to the Virgin Mary and overlooking the Rouenne metropolis. It is due to the Rouenese architect Jacques-Eugène Barthélémy who designed many churches in the region. The basilica has been classified as historical monuments since 24 August 2004.
Located opposite the western facade, is the monument dedicated to Joan of Arc with, at its top, the archangel Saint Michel. This monument, by the architect Juste Lisch and the sculptor Louis-Ernest Barrias, was inaugurated in 1892 and dominates the Westward metropolis. In the nearby cemetery are the tomb of José-Maria de Heredia (1842–1905) and, in the square of priests and religious, that of Father Jacques Hamel (1930–2016).
She is currently the only church in the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours, attached to the Archdiocese of Rouen, and has as rector Sister Viviane Charpentier, of the congregation of sisters of the Presentation of Mary and for administrator Father Frédéric Masset.
