The Château de Montmayeur is a former castle of the 12th – 13th century, cradle of the family of Montmayeur, center of the seigneury of Montmayeur, raised in county in 1449, whose ruins stand on the Montraillant, on the commune of Villard-Sallet in the department of Savoy in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The towers and the archaeological site associated with them are listed as historical monuments by order of 19 September 1989. In 1997, the site was integrated into a thematic itinerary of discoveries: Pierres-fortes de Savoie.
