Fortress
château de l'Hermine
The castle of the Hermine is an ancient castle integrated with the walls of the city of Vannes (Morbihan). The castle is the principal residence of the Dukes of Brittany between the end of the 14th and 15th centuries. Ruined then dismantled in the 17th century, it was replaced during the 18th century by a private hotel - the Lagorce hotel - which took the name of its owner. However, it is commonly called the Hermine Castle, the memory of the ancient fortress of the Dukes being well anchored in the memory of the Vannetese.
