About

The Saint Vincent Gate is a city gate pierced between the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It is the main entrance to the old town of Vannes in Morbihan. Integrated with the city walls, the gate to the north of the port and Gambetta Square was originally intended to allow access to the closed city for the port's operators. For nearly two centuries, access to the door is through a bridge (also called Saint Vincent) which will be replaced by a semi-hemisphere square: the Place du Morbihan, future Place Gambetta.
