The international city of lace and fashion is a museum in Calais that was inaugurated on June 11, 2009. It is mainly dedicated to the history of lace woven on mechanical crafts. The international city of lace and fashion is located in an old lace factory, the Boulart factory, founded in the 1870s and operating until 2000. The site was bought in 1988 by the City of Calais with the project of making it a place to enhance the know-how of lace.
