Novioregum

About

Novioregum is a Gallo-Roman vicus belonging to the Civitas Santonum, the city of Santons. It reached its peak in the 2nd century AD but, as early as the 4th or 5th century, the city was deserted and its trail was permanently lost. Its location gives rise to many hypotheses, however the site of the Fâ, in Barzan, Charente-Maritime, is now privileged.
