Fontaine de la Rotonde

The fountain of la Rotonde is a fountain located in the centre of Aix-en-Provence, in the continuity of the Cour Mirabeau. Designed by the engineer of Ponts et Chaussées Theophile de Tournadre, it was inaugurated in 1860 and is one of the most famous monuments of Aix-en-Provence. The city of Aix is building this fountain to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of water from the Zola Canal.

Its basin has a diameter of 32 meters and the fountain rises to 12 meters high. The total diameter of the monument is 41 metres.
