jardin archéologique de l'hôpital de Lisieux
The archaeological garden of the hospital is a public garden located near the Robert Bisson Hospital in Lisieux, France, in the Calvados department (Normandy). The Gallo-Roman remains exposed were discovered during the archaeological excavations conducted by Claude Lemaître from 1978 to 1985 and include a thermal building and a private building; archaeologists were able to trace the history of this district from the first century to the third century. During the excavations a rich and high quality painted decoration was discovered, "excellent testimony on Roman painting in Gaul in the 2nd century". The representations similar to those found on the site are exceptional, with less than six sets of this quality known to Gaul in the mid-1990s.
