About

Noviomagus Lexoviorum is the capital of the Lexovian people, located in the present town of Lisieux, in the French department of Calvados. Before their installation on the Roman site, the Lexovians live on a site a few kilometers west more easily defensible, the Castellier oppidum. After the Roman conquest, the vicus moved to a site located on the plain near a Gallic port. Built on an orthogonal plane, it reached its peak in the second century.
