Besançon Botanical Garden is a municipal botanical garden in Besançon and Marie-et-Louis-Pasteur University. Its creation dates back to 1726 with the allocation by the Besançon City Council of land near Granvelle Drive, when the university had recently settled in the city in 1691. Since then, he has known various locations, notably between 1896 and 1956 in Chamars, near the Canot Bridge, between 1957 and 2018 place du général Leclerc (labelled "Botanical Gardens of France and French-speaking countries"), and since 2025 on the university campus of the Bouloie. It is rich in about 5,000 species of botanical plants spread over 3 hectares in reconstituted environments representative of Franche-Comté and the world.
