Botanical garden
jardin d'altitude du Haut-Chitelet
The high-altitude garden of Haut Chitelet is a botanical garden perched between 1,210 and 1,228 m south of the Schlucht pass, in Xonrupt-Longemer, in the Vosges massif. It has more than 2,500 species from the cold and mountainous regions of the world. There is also a natural peat bog and an altitude beech forest.
With the botanical garden Jean-Marie-Pelt (ex-Botanical Garden of the Montet), located on the outskirts of Nancy, it is part of the Botanical Gardens of Greater Nancy and the University of Lorraine. It is labeled "remarkable garden". La Vologne, a tributary of the Moselle, takes its source there.
It is one of the most beautiful and rich alpine gardens in Europe.
