About

The train of Saint-Trojan is a tourist railway established in 1963 on the island of Oléron, it runs from April to October on a 6 km railway line, narrow type Decauville with 60 cm spacing, between the terminal stations of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains and Maumusson. The convoys are fired by diesel locomotives. From 2010 to 2011, diesel oil was replaced by frying oil supplied by "Roule ma frie 17", a local recycling association This line has no connection to the former railway on the island of Oléron that ran between Saint-Trojan and Saint-Denis from 1904 to 1935, which was with a metric gauge.
