musée de Cambrai
Cambrai Museum, founded in 1847, is an important museum in the North of France and the main generalist museum in Cambresis. In 1893 he moved to the Hotel de Francqueville dating from 1720 and renovated and enlarged in 1994. It includes sections on archaeology, local heritage and arts (Beaux-arts, modern arts and contemporary arts).
Among the archaeological collections, there is a section of osteo-archaeology unique in France. Great names of art history are present at the Museum of Cambrai (Auguste Rodin, Camille Claudel, James Tissot, Henri Matisse...) and the museum has a very important collection of geometric abstraction.
