palais du Luxembourg
The Palace of Luxembourg, located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris in the north of the garden of Luxembourg, is the seat of the French Senate, which was installed in 1799 in the palace built in the early seventeenth century by Marie de Medici, queen of France and Navarre, during her regency. It belongs to the estate of this assembly, which also includes, close to the palace, the Hôtel du Petit Luxembourg, residence of the President of the Senate, the museum of Luxembourg, and the entire garden. The first architectural model of the building was from the beginning Palazzo Pitti in Florence.
