The Palatine Fountain is a fountain located at No. 12 on Rue Garancière in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
This fountain was raised at the expense of Anne of Bavaria, Princess Palatine, in 1715. It was attributed to Jean Beausire, but he would have conceived only the technical plans. After the demolition of the communes of her private hotel to which she was backed, a new building was built in 1913. The fountain was restored to its original location. It has been listed as a historical monument since 12 January 1962. She was one of the merchant fountains in Paris. In 1900, one could read an inscription, measuring 1 m high by 0.5 m wide, placed on the wall of No. 9: NIGHT FOR 8 TONNELS WATER PORTORS".
Description: The fountain presents itself as a discreet insert in the wall, the size of a door, little decorated and surmounted by a plate bearing a Latin inscription, a mascaron with a bronze lion head that can deliver the water mid-height.
