About

The Menhir des Fichades is a menhir located in the Haute-Vienne department of France.

Description: Menhir is a granite monolith. It is 3.60 m high. A search at the foot of the stone revealed that it was buried in the ground at least 1.50 m deep. A small flint blade was discovered on this occasion. The menhir was erected near the source of a stream. According to Roger Crédot, it would be included in a small alignment of five to six stones, most of which are now reversed. Bagnol Dolmen is located close to about 200 m northeast. Very many flints were collected on the heights between the two buildings, suggesting the presence of prehistoric habitat nearby.
