abri de Cro-Magnon
The Cro-Magnon shelter is a prehistoric site of the Upper Paleolithic located in the former town of Eyzies-de-Tayac (new town of Eyzies), in the Dordogne department, a few hundred meters from the Eyzies station. In addition to burials, this eponymous site of the Cro-Magnon Man has delivered flint tools and ornament elements attributed to the Gravettien. It is one of fifteen "prehistoric sites and caves adorned with the Vézère valley", registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The site has been open to the public since 2014.
