musée Despiau-Wlérick
The Despiau-Wlérick Museum in Mont-de-Marsan is a municipal art museum, specifically a glyptotheque. It was inaugurated on July 21, 1968. It is the only French museum dedicated exclusively to figurative sculpture and the largest French museum for that of the first half of the 20th century.
The museum is currently closed for renovation work and is expected to welcome its visitors again in 2028. The Museum Gallery (located in the former Dubalen Museum) receives the temporary exhibition Robert Wlérick looking for the model until December 19, 2025. Around the female model, the exhibition explores the relationship between the sculptor and his models.
Educational and cultural programming is offered around the exhibition. External work and a new entrance are expected to be completed by 2029.
