About

The Battle of Normandy Memorial Museum of Bayeux traces the 77 days of battles of the Battle of Normandy from June 7 to August 29, 1944. Placed in the first important city liberated after the Normandy landing, it is located Fabian-Ware Boulevard, a section of the by pass, peripheral boulevard built by the British Corps of Royal Engineers in June 1944 to facilitate the movement of military equipment too large to pass through the old streets of the city. Close to the museum is the British Military Cemetery. It is one of three museums managed by the City of Bayeux under the Bayeux Museum brand alongside the Bayeux Tapestry and the Baron-Gérard Museum of Art and History.
