parc de Sautour
The Parc de Sautour (also known as the Parc du Moulin de Sautour) is a public garden located in the Mureaux in the Yvelines, at the southern entrance of the city, near the ramp of the A13 motorway (Motorway of Normandy). Its name comes from the proximity of an old ordinary mill. Created in 1985 at the initiative of the communist town hall of the time and currently owned by the commune, this green space extends over 17 hectares and includes a pond with an area of 1.29 hectares fed by the ru d'Orgeval, two artificial islands each measuring about 210 m2, a playground, a dovecote, a waterfall, a garden and a statue representing a swimmer. The artificial mound that dominates it dates back to 1988; from about 60 meters high, it now constitutes the highest point of the city of the Walls. There are numerous events, including:
Festivals (Circus Festival, Mosaic Festival) sports championships (cyclo-cross, ATV, moto-cross, fishing...) Since 2003, the park has been included in the pre-inventory of cultural heritage.
