Roman bridge
pont de Constantin
From ancient times, perhaps even before the Roman occupation, a bridge had to connect the city of Arles with the Camargue. It is impossible today to comment on the place occupied by this first bridge and how it was built. It was probably followed by a first Roman bridge, built in the Augustean period or shortly thereafter.
But the Roman bridge, with some remains, would go back to Constantine's day. It is also called boat deck.
