pont aux Lions
The Lions Bridge, also known as the Lunel Bridge, is an old railway bridge crossing the Rhône at Arles in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône. Built in 1866 to carry the line between Arles and Lunel, it was destroyed by aerial bombardment on 6 August 1944 and never rebuilt. Today only the abutments remain with their Lion statuary and two of the four batteries that supported the metal apron.
