About

The Pont du Cadre Noir is one of the longest bridges in France (61st position) with its 740 meters long. It connects the two banks of the Loire to Saumur via the island of Offard. Its construction dates back to 1982 and is doubled in 2010 to allow a 2x2-lane upgrade and thus support the 28,000 vehicles (2009 value) that borrow it every day.

It is part of the Western Rocade of Saumur. The bridge is located in the perimeter of the Loire Valley, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and is classified as Natura 2000.
