City gate
porte Bergère du Dorat
The Dorat Gate, dating from the late 15th century, known as Porte Bergère (the name of the street attested in 1424) is located west of the ramparts, on the most inaccessible side of the hillside. It is the only fortified gate preserved in Upper Vienna, and the only remaining of the city's four gates in the Middle Ages. With its five mâchicoulis, whose crows support small arches decorated with a braid, it is typical of the time of its construction between 1485 and 1539.
