La Scala is a Parisian theatre located 13, boulevard de Strasbourg in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Inaugurated in 1874, it was a famous music hall before being transformed into an Art Deco cinema in 1936. In 1977, it was rebuilt and became the first multi-room in the capital specializing in porn cinema. On February 12, 2016, La Scala was purchased by Mélanie and Frédéric Biessy, who made it a theatre dedicated to performing arts, music and visual arts open to French and international creations.
Café-concert at music hall (1857-1934): In 1787, Sieur Gauthier opened an inn at the Cheval Blanc. She later became a guinguette, with tables and chairs installed outside, under tonnels, and an orchestra juced on treteaux, composed of two violins, a bass and a flute. In 1857 the Cheval-Blanc became a singer-coffee. In 1874, impressed by La Scala de Milan, Marie-Reine Rameau, widow Roisin, owner of the Ball de l'Élysée-Montmartre, built the café-concert de la Scala at this site by architects Delarue and Beaupied.
