Tumulus
tumulus de champ Châlons
The tumuli of Champ Châlon are a set of seven neolithic tumuli forming two distant necropolises of about 600 m located north of the forest of Benon on the commune of Benon in Charente-Maritime. The two necropolises are called Champ Châlon I (five tumuli) and Champ Châlon II (two tumuli). Only the necropolis of Champ Châlon I was searched. Radiocarbon dating indicates a use of monuments between the fifth and fourth millennia BC.
