Vallée des Jardins

The Valley of Gardens is a park located in Caen. It was built in 1984 on a former natural meadow belonging to the estate of a farm called Vimard Farm. It extends from north to south over 11 ha in a valley where several types of landscapes follow one another:

in the upper part, an arboretum along the boulevard Jean Moulin (bulbs, viornes, maples, decorative bark trees, bushy roses,...) in the intermediate part, several rustic lawns bounded by white alepines and elderels in the lower part, a collection of perennial plants like peonies and haemerocalles protected by a limestone cliff This park is extended east of Courseulles Avenue by the Sablon Hills. As the public park is not closed, it is permanently accessible.
