The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a Catholic church located in Granada, France. The building was classified as historical monuments in 1951.

Location: The church is located in the French department of Haute-Garonne, in the commune of Granada.

Church of Our Lady of the Assumption

History: It is the Abbey of Grandselve, founder of the city of Granada in 1290, which is at the initiative of the construction of the church Our Lady of the Assumption in the thirteenth century. In 1308 Clement V, the first pope of Avignon, visited the site, which ended almost a century later, in 1376.

The outside: The meridional Gothic building is decorated with an octagonal bell tower of the Toulousan type (15th century) which is pierced with geminied bays, two floors with arches in mitres. It has a balustrade decorated with bells and a brick arrow. The monumental portal of the 14th century is surmounted by mâchicoulis and an openwork balustrade.
