About

The church of Saint-Didier de Neyron is a church of the 10th century, renovated on numerous occasions since its creation (especially in the 19th century), located in the neighborhood of Saint-Didier (or Neyron Le Haut), in Neyron, Ain. It is the only Catholic place of worship in Neyron; it depends on the parish grouping of Miribel, within the diocese of Belley-Ars in the archdiocese of Lyon. It is dedicated to Didier de Vienne.

Early constructions: Neyron's parish is mentioned from the beginning of the fourth century; At the end of the fourth century is attested the presence of a small chapel at the present location of the church Saint-Didier. The year 620 saw the return of Didier's remains from Vienna to his diocese; the procession would pass through Neyron (then written Nero), to borrow a boat to its final destination. Shortly after this passage, a new chapel was built, but it seems to have been destroyed in 675.
