Saint-Maurice Church, formerly Saint-Dominique Church, is a Catholic church located in Annecy, France.
Location: The church is located in the French department of Haute-Savoie, in the commune of Annecy. It is located in the old town, opposite the town hall.
History: This church is the former chapel of a Dominican convent, construction started on 22 March 1422. Its construction is wanted by Cardinal Brogny. The church is then "on the edge of the city walls, along a small canal that unites the Thiou with the Massé". The building was consecrated on September 14, 1445, even though it was not fully completed. It is placed under the name of Saint Dominique. However, his name changed following the destruction of the ancient church dedicated to Saint Maurice, which was located next to the castle. Saint-Maurice (Maurice of Agaune) was the patron saint of Savoy. The vaults were built in 1491. During the French Revolution, it was looted, became a grain market and then a stable.
