Church building
église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens d'Osny
Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens Church is a Catholic church located in Osny, France. It has a transept from a first Romanesque church in the late 11th century, with a north cross still unchanged except the vault, a choir of the early 13th century, still in the primitive Gothic style, and a contemporary Gothic bell tower of the choir. The nave and coasts were built nine at the end of the 19th century only, imitating the 13th century model never properly repaired since the Hundred Years War.
As a whole, Saint Peter's church has no specific architectural peculiarities, but the ancient parts are of certain archaeological interest. The bell tower and the choir have been listed as historical monuments since 1926 and 1948 respectively; the transept is not yet protected although being the oldest part. Following a criminal arson, the eastern parts of the church were restored in 2008.
The church of Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens remains the centre of the parish life of Osny, and Sunday Masses are celebrated there on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
