The church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine is located in the Old Lille district of Lille. Nicknamed "La grande Madeleine" because of its rough silhouette and baroque dome. It was listed as a Historic Monument in October 1965.

She has been disused of worship since 1989 and has been transformed into an exhibition venue. In 1991, the old chapel of the Carmes undressed became the parish church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine.
