Saint-Antoine de Padua du Chesnay Church is a Catholic religious building located in the city of Chesnay. Until the building was built, the Chesnay had only one church (the Saint-Germain church). But with a population that increased from 272 in 1806 to 2,970 in 1891, the population had become too large and could no longer meet the expectations of the population. The construction of a new church is decided.
History of construction: In 1894 Bishop Pierre Goux entrusted Abbé Charles Boissis with the task of building a new church in the commune of Chesnay. In 1896, the land for the church was acquired. On April 19, 1897, the first stone was laid. On November 18, 1900, the church was inaugurated and blessed. In 1903 the bell tower was finished. In 1906, the last window was placed. In 1910, the portal tympanum was finished and the bells blessed. The church is officially over. A parish priest, Father Charles Boissis, is attached to this new parish.
