église Saint-Nicolas-et-Sainte-Alexandra
The Church of St. Nicholas and St. Alexandra or Church of St.
Nicholas and Alexandra () is a Russian Orthodox church located in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) on Longchamp Street. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myre and Saint Alexandra. It is built while Nice belongs to the Kingdom of Sardinia, under the impulse of the Empress of Russia Alexandra Feodorovna, in order to give a place of worship to the Russian aristocracy that stays in the region.
Consecrated in 1860, it is the first Russian parish church in Western Europe and, after the annexation of Nice to France, one of the first Orthodox churches in France. It should not be confused with the Russian Orthodox Cathedral Saint-Nicolas, also built in Nice but several decades later. It has been attached to the Romanian Orthodox Church since 2019.
It has been listed as historic monuments since 1990.
