About

Chaulnes Castle is located in Noyarey, commune in the Isère department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This former seigneurial house owes its name to a branch of the Chaulnes family, originally, according to some works, of the former province of Picardie, or even according to other sources, directly from Tonnerrois in Burgundy, and of which a member came to settle in the Dauphiné at the end of the sixteenth century or at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The castle and its estate belonged in particular to two bishops who succeeded each other in the 18th century in the diocese of Grenoble.

The building is in good general condition in 2020. It is owned by a private owner who uses it commercially for receptions of exhibitions and other event projects.
