château de Rochetaillée
The Château de Rochetaillé is a castle in the Loire department of Saint-Étienne (in Rochetaillé). It is listed as historical monuments by order of 5 April 1930. Its date of construction remains unknown but at least its trace can be found in the literature in 1173.
Indeed, the rotation of 1173 between the Count of Forez and the Church of Lyon indicates that anyone who has the Château de Rochetaillé must pay tribute to the Count. Located on a rocky pile that makes it inaccessible to the north, the castle consisted of four towers, three of which remain today. Additions were made in the sixteenth century.
