About

The Viaduct de Limay is a 500-metre-long concrete road viaduct that was put into service in 1993 and crossed the two arms of the Seine between Mantes-la-Ville and Limay, as well as the island of Limay, in the Yvelines (France). This work is part of the east of Limay, opened in 2002, 5 km long, which allows the bypass of the agglomeration of Mantes-Limay by the departmental road 983, avoiding the city centres of Mantes-la-Ville, Mantes-la-Jolie and Limay. Its route is substantially parallel to the Limay Railway Bridge, located about 250 metres upstream.

It had a traffic of 20,000 vehicles per day in 2003. The structure was put into service with two traffic lanes and emergency stopping strips. When this is justified by the development of traffic, it is planned to develop the carriageway to four lanes 3 metres wide.
