musée archéologique de Strasbourg
The Archaeological Museum of the City of Strasbourg is one of the most important archaeology museums in France in the field of "National Antiquities" after the National Archaeology Museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris. It is located in the vast basements of the Rohan Palace and presents several millennia of the ancient history of Alsace and its inhabitants, from the distant origins of Paleolithic (600,000 BC) to the early Middle Ages (800 BC). A route of 1,200 m2 is organized around four major chronological sections: Prehistory, Protohistory, Gallo-Roman era, Merovingian era.
