The Musée de l'Ouvre Notre-Dame is a museum in Strasbourg dedicated to the arts in Strasbourg and in the territories of the Upper Rhine (Alsace, country of Baden, Rhineland Switzerland, Palatinate) from the early Middle Ages to the connection of Strasbourg to France in 1681. It is located in the historical building of the foundation of the Work of Notre Dame, responsible for the construction and maintenance of the Strasbourg Cathedral, located next to the Rohan Palace. Our Lady's Museum is famous for its rich collections of architectural elements and works of art: sculptures, on wood and stone, including the original statues of the cathedral, paintings, retables, tapestries, Gothic architectural drawings, stained glass from the cathedral and churches of the region.
Among the rich collection of paintings, the museum exhibits works by Konrad Witz, Hans Baldung or Sébastien Stoskopff. It also includes a reconstituted Gothic garden with an overview of the plants used in the Middle Ages.
