Roman villa
villa gallo-romaine de Tiron
The Gallo-Roman villa of Tiron is a villa occupied between the second half of the first and the beginning of the third century of our era, located in the former French commune of Saint-Patrice, attached since 2017 to the new commune of Coteaux-sur-Loire, west of the department of Indre-et-Loire (in the French region of the Centre-Val-de-Loire). The villa is one of those (at least 6) identified on the hillside of the right bank of the Loire between Tours and Maine-et-Loire. It occupies a vast space of 8,000 m2 which includes a residential part, a sanctuary, private baths and several buildings whose assignment remains to be specified. Built on a slope, it presents the peculiarity of presenting a system of terraces allowing to catch the gradient.
