IVT International Visual Theatre is a cultural place of deaf culture, co-founded by Jean Gremion and Alfredo Corrado in Paris in 1977. It consists of three poles: a theatre, a training centre and a publishing house, linked to a joint mission to transmit and disseminate French sign language (LSF) and its culture. The articulation of the theatre with the teaching of the LSF makes it possible to value the different language registers, to have a working material and a unique pedagogy. With the Tyst Teater (sv) in Sweden, the National Theatre of the Deaf in the United States and the Teater Manu (no) in Norway, IVT is in France a venue for the dissemination and creation of sign language theatre and visual and physical performances.
