église Notre-Dame de Trumilly
Notre Dame Church is a Catholic church located in Tromilly, France. As a souvenir of the village's first Romanesque church and witness to its seniority, it preserves a portal of the late 11th century. Otherwise, the church emerged from the Gothic transformation of a second Romanesque church in the first half of the 12th century.
A new radiant Gothic choir was built between 1230 / 1240, showing rare architectural research and performance quality for a small rural church. The southern crusillon was rebuilt shortly afterwards, and the old parts were reworked and vaulted with warheads. Despite the six construction campaigns that can be identified, the whole seems quite harmonious.
The bell tower, although not very far from some simple Romanesque bell towers in the region, was entirely built nine before the French Revolution. Overall, the Trimilly church is very well preserved and has never undergone deep restoration until the end of the 20th century. In addition to the architectural quality of the choir, it is therefore above all its authenticity that makes the building remarkable.
It was classified as historical monuments by order of 22...
