About

Saint Peter's Church is a parish Catholic church located in Duvy, France. Since the reshuffles at the end of the 15th century, it has been a double-ship church ending in a flat bedside, which is mostly of flamboyant Gothic style. Its architecture is pretty rustic.

Only the collateral is vaulted. The church has one of the oldest Romanesque bell towers in the region, dating back to the end of the 11th century. It occupies an unusual position in front of the bedside, and its base is not visible from the inside of the church.

The gate around 1160 is hidden by a porch; A second rather remarkable portal in flamboyant style is now blocked. The building was listed as historical monuments by order of 14 April 1954, including the cemetery surrounding it, and was fully restored at the end of the 20th and early 21st centuries. Its collection of furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries is still almost complete, and gives the church a stamp of authenticity that has become rare today.

Since the French Revolution, Duvy has been attached to the parish of Crépy-en-Valois. Sunday Masses are celebrated in Saint Peter's Church...
