Saint-Gervais de Courteuil is a parish Catholic church located in Courteuil, France. Its oldest part, the choir with flat bedside, dates from the beginning of the 13th century. In the 16th century, it was enlarged in two phases by the addition of collaterals to the north and south.
They are both different, and the short nave with its unique north side still has a different style. Despite this stylistic diversity, with the cohabitation of primitive Gothic, flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance, not to mention the traces of successive changes, the eastern parts have a remarkable spatial unity. The collected silhouette and the small dimensions make not forget that it is a small rural church of no importance, but this does not prevent an architecture to the height of the different periods of construction.
The table of the bedside probably comes from the church of the priory of Saint-Nicolas-d'Acy, which was located in the same municipality. There are also two laymen, which is rare in the region. The church Saint-Gervais is therefore not lacking in interest, and it was inscribed in historical monuments by order of 20 February 1970...
